Saturday Morning Mini's - a club type class
These small quilts can be used for all sorts of things. Some are perfect to use as placemats, while others might be used in the center of a table, or as a small wall hanging. Your choice of fabrics could make them into seasonal accents. Iā€™m sure that we find lots of uses for these small quilts. This group will meet every three or four weeks. Monthly Fee: $15
Beginners Class
Have you or someone you know wanted to learn to make quilts? Now is the time to do it as we all start our New Year Resolutions. This class covers the basics of piecing, while making a small sampler quilt. Topics include how to use the tools, accurate piecing with a quarter inch seam, and assembly techniques. The pattern is included in the class fee. Some homework is required. Those, who wish to, can continue on by taking machine quilting and binding classes.
Celebration Jackets
Do you wish that you could wear a beautiful quilted creation? Then make a celebration jacket. This is a wonderful boxy jacket that can cover the spectrum from casual to dressy, depending on your fabric choices. It surprises many that it is so easy to construct. Once you make one you will want to make another.
First Crush
A wonderful quilt to celebrate Valentine's Day. This is a fat quarter friendly design. The store sample is made from a grouping of reds and pinks, but it looks just as nice using a variety of colors. A limited number of kits will be available.
The geometric design of this pattern is scrappy. The store sample was made using a fat eighth pack of Kate Spain's Canyon fabrics from Moda and a background. Sandy made the sample and opted to add an outer border. If you like flying geese you will love this quilt. For experienced beginners and beyond.
Pineapple Workshop
This is a technique workshop using the Creative Grids Pineapple Trim ruler. It is amazing how many variations can be designed using this block. Sign up to have some fun.
Me and My Sister - Grade 5
A fun and colorful quilt using a jelly roll (a pack of 2 1/2" strips) and a background.
Me and My Sister - Grade 6
Similar to 5th grade, but goes a bit further for a different look. Also uses a jelly roll ( 2 1/2" strips)
Me and My Sister - Grade 7
Another happy, fun quilt, but this one uses a layer cake (10" squares).
It's a Pajama Party!
When was the last time you went to a Pajama Party? The evening will begin at 6:00 and go until everyone decides that they are ready to call it a day. Favorite foods from the parties of my past will be served. The activities will include making pajama pants and pillowcases using Cindy Taylor Oates updated book. I've just gotten some great flannels that will be great for cold nights, whether sleeping or lounging.
The Tuffet
Wouldn't you love to make something as charming as a tuffet for your home or create one as a gift for someone? You can choose to make it a whimsical accent or make it to match the rest of your decor. I will lead you through this project, while sharing all the tips and tricks I have learned while working on them myself. Come see the samples at the store. They are a lot of fun to make and use. The ladies from the fall classes are thrilled with the results.
Strippy Stars Zipper Bag
The bags made out of mesh fill so many uses. This one goes a step further by having pieced blocks decorating it. The project makes use of the new star tool by creative grids. After making this you will want to explore other patterns that use it.
Finally Friday!
Join this group for an entertaining evening of quilting camaraderie. It started out as a UFO night, but has become a time to exchange ideas and motivate one another, as well as share a home cooked meal. It lasts until everyone is ready to go.
A Quilts of Valor | Mini Retreat
Have you thought about making a quilt for this worthwhile group? Now is the time to do it and have a fun weekend doing it. We will start at 3:00 on Saturday afternoon, and work till we adjourn for dinner (not included in price). Then on Sunday morning we will start at 9:00 and sew all day. The cost for the weekend is the cost of the kit. I will provide a free class, lunch on Sunday. If we sew into the dinner hour pizzas can be ordered.
Half Moon Bay Bag
A great bag to make for the spring and summer months. It uses six fat quarters to create it. You might want to make one to go with every outfit.
Machine Quilting
During this introductory class you will learn the basics. These will include preparing the quilt for quilting, straight line quilting, and the fundamentals of free motion quilting. The use of various tools and techniques will be discussed.
This is the finishing touch to your quilts, and it needs to be done just as well as the rest of the quilt. I will lead you through the entire process on a practice piece that is provided in your class fee.
